Set loop start position to current position

When I click on the Loop icon on a video for the first time, I want the loop start position to be the current position in the video, not some random default position.

Also, I think the default loop end marker should be set to the end of the video, rather than some random point.

When setting up a loop, I go like this:

I seek the starting point by watching the video.
I pause and set the starting point.
I continue watching until I see the ending point.
I pause and set the ending point.

If the end marker was automatically set initially somewhere before the end of the video, the video might loop inconveniently during step 3.

Currently, when I click the Loop icon for the first time, the video jumps to a seemingly arbitrary position. Not only is this not useful, but it makes me loose track of where I wanted the loop to start.
